Tips/Info #24 Sharepoint 2010

“An unrecognized HTTP response was received when attempting to crawl this item. Verify whether the item can be accessed using your browser.”

“Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has “Full Read” permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled. ( Error from SharePoint site: HttpStatusCode Unauthorized The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized. )”

“The secure sockets layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server was invalid and this item will not be crawled.”

Soluciones:

  • Deshabilitar Loopback Check (
  • New-ItemProperty HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa -Name "DisableLoopbackCheck" -value "1" -PropertyType dword

    2-Application Addresses Refresh Job

    3-Office Web Apps Cache

    When an Office_Viewing_Service_Cache site collection is provisioned within a Web application by the Office Web Apps Cache Creation timer job, it is initially configured to hold cached document resources for 30 days. As mentioned in Tip No. 1, a cache site collection can also grow by default to a maximum of 100GB.

    image

PageState is null

    Hay que agregar el campo PublishingPageContent

    <PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField id="PageContent" FieldName="PublishingPageContent" runat="server"> </PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField>

    6-Error en un web part: Unauthorized The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

  • Ir a regedit.exe
  • Navegar a "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa"
  • Renombrar a"DisableLoopbackCheck"
  • 7-API RetryDeliveryInterval

    En la nueva API de Sharepoint 2010 SP1 el cual introduce RetryDeliveryInterval en la clase SPIncomingEmailService

    Este valor representa el número de horas que el servicio de correo electrónico entrante ( incoming email service ) intenta procesar un mensaje de correo electrónico valido en la carpeta de entrega antes de que el mensaje de correo electrónico se elimine permanentemente. El default valor es de 24 horas.

    $emailSvc = Get-SPServiceInstance | WHERE { $_.TypeName -eq "Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Incoming E-Mail"}
    Current Value: $($emailSvc.Service.RetryDeliveryInterval)
    $emailSvc.Service.RetryDeliveryInterval = 5
    $emailSvc.Service.Update()

    El código anterior se seteo a 5 horas.

    8-Error: Unexpected System.NullReferenceException después de hacer un restpre de una base de contenidos SharePoint 2010

    “at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite.PreinitializeServer(SPRequest request)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWeb.InitializeSPRequest()
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.SPControl.EnsureSPWebRequest(SPWeb web)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.SPControl.SPWebEnsureSPControl(HttpContext context)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationRuntime.SPRequestModule.GetContextWeb(HttpContext context)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationRuntime.SPRequestModule.PostResolveRequestCacheHandler(Object oSender, EventArgs ea)”

  • SharePoint Web Services Root
    Identidad: LocalService
    Estado: Detenido
  • SharePoint Central Administration v4
    Identidad: SharePoint Farm Account
    Estado: iniciado
    This one is pretty straightforward. It’s responsible for Central Administration on the machines hosting it. It will include at least three applications (root, images, inc) plus an app for each Language Pack you have installed
  • SharePoint Web Services System (which is named with a GUID)
    Identidad: SharePoint Farm Account
    Estado: iniciado
    Hostea Topology Service Application, el cual es conocido como Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service Application.
  • SecurityTokenServiceApplicationPool (which is named with a GUID)
    Identidad: SharePoint Farm Account
    Estado: iniciado
  • SharePoint Web Services Default (which is named with a GUID)
    Identidad: SharePoint Services Account
    Estado: iniciado
    Hostea todos los servicios de aplicaciones. Tendrá muchas aplicaciones.
  • SharePoint – 80
    Identidad: SharePoint Services Account
    Estado: iniciado
  • Types of Application Pools

    Crear web application app pools: http://technet.microsoft.com/es-es/library/ff607931.aspx

    Crear app pool para servicios de aplicación: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607595.aspx

    Algunos comandos útiles:

    Get-SPServiceApplicationPool

    Get-SPWebApplication

    Tips/Info #18 Sharepoint 2010

    1-Error: Unexpected error on server associating the workflow

    Este problema podría ser causado por la gran cantidad de tipos que se crean durante la compilación del flujo de trabajo,para flujos de trabajo con muchas variables de flujo de trabajo locales. Es más común con los flujos de trabajo con múltiples acciones de procesos de aprobación, ya que cada acción deProceso de Aprobación preconfigurado viene con un gran conjunto de variables locales.

    Puede ejecutar la siguiente consulta:

    $app = get-spwebapplication “[web app url]“
    $app.UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity = 30000
    $app.Update()

    Después de ejecutar estos comandos, deberá realizar un iisreset y trate de publicar de nuevo el workflow. La configuración default es de 7000.

    Más info: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2557533

    2-CAML: filtrar una lista por membership

    <View>
    <Query>
    <Where>
    <Membership Type=”CurrentUserGroups”>
              <FieldRef Name=”AssignedTo”/>
    </Membership>
    </Where>
    </Query>
    </View>

    3-Ocultar “Todo el contenido del sitio” y “Papelera de reciclaje” en la quick launch.

    Dos posibilidades (ambas se realizan sobre la master page default que estén trabajando):

    A-

    <Sharepoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl runat=”server” Permissions=”ManagePermissions”>

    <SharePoint:ClusteredSPLinkButton runat=”server” NavigateUrl=”~site/_layouts/recyclebin.aspx” ImageClass=”s4-specialNavIcon” ImageUrl=”/_layouts/images/fgimg.png” …  />

    </SharePoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl>

    El valor del atributo ManagePermissions puede ser cambiado dependiendo del requerimiento

    B-

    <SharePoint:ClusteredSPLinkButton

    runat=”server”

    NavigateUrl=”~site/_layouts/recyclebin.aspx”

    ImageClass=”s4-specialNavIcon”

    ImageUrl=”/_layouts/images/fgimg.png” ..  Visible=”false“/>

    4-Cambiar el idioma de un site (PRECAUCIÓN CON ESTO)

    UPDATE dbo.AllWebs SET Language = 1034 WHERE Id = [[WebId]]

    Debe estar instalado el package de idioma 1034 (español).

    Hace un backup de la base de datos previo cambio.

    5-Ocultar la ribbon con seguridad

    <SharePoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl PermissionsString="ManagePermissions" runat="server">

       <div id="s4-ribbonrow" class="s4-pr s4-ribbonrowhidetitle">

       </div>

    </SharePoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl>

    El valor del atributo ManagePermissions puede ser cambiado dependiendo del requerimiento

    6-Databases running in compatibility range, upgrade recommended

    El mensaje indica que se debe hacer una actualización de Sharepoint, para ello (PREVIO BACKUP DE LA GRANJA DE FORMA COMPLETA) se deberá ejecutar el siguiente script de powershell:

    PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures

    y a continuación reiniciar el servidor.

    Una vez reiniciado, revise el log para asegurarse que no hubo inconvenientes.

    7-Error: “Value does not fall within the expected range” exception in SPFieldMap.GetColumnNumber

    Este error se debe a que se llegó al límite de consultas de columnas lookup, o columnas de personas/grupos o a columnas de estado de workflows. Para ello deberá aumentar la propiedad List View Lookup Threshold del web application actual (Central Administration/Application Managment/Manage Web Applications/Seleccionar web application deseado)

    ResourceThrottling

    8-Codificar/Decodificar urls de Sharepoint

    http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/

    9-Cómo almacena Sharepoint las fechas?

    Sharepoint almacena las fechas en formato UTC. Al traer las fechas desde la base de datos las convierte al time zone del user actual. Para convertir la fecha en el formato del time zone actual del user, lo hace mediante la función fn_LocalDayFromUTCDate.

    10-Cuidado al guardar una lista como template que tiene un campo lookup, y utilizarla en otro site diferente.

    Al querer usar el template, nos lanzará una excepción, ya que el GUID de la lista lookup que indica el template no está en el site actual. Lo que puedes hacer es renombrar el archivo de template (.stp) a .cab y extraer el archivo de manifiesto, y editar el GUID (podrás obtener el GUID desde la url entrando a List Settings), y volver a guardarlo como .stp o usarlo con Visual studio.

    11-Cambiar el nombre de un web application

    $NombreViejo =Get-SPWebApplication | where {$_.Name -match "<NombreViejo>"}
    $NombreViejo.Name="<NuevoNombreWebApplication>"
    $NombreViejo.Update()
    Después deberás editar los access mappings (Central Administration/System Settings/Configure alternate access mappings)
    12-Error: “The install progress conflicts with a previously installed Microsoft Office 2010 Server product” SharePoint 2010

    Deberás borrar la clave de registro donde indica que está instalado Microsoft Office Web Apps. Realizar un search con “Microsoft Office Web Apps”
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
    11-La opción de “New Document” está grisada

      • Verificar permisos para el usuario (Contribute)

      • Habilitar “Client Intergration” en la configuración de la web application

      • Deshabilitar “User Access Control” UAC

      • Ir a Library > Library settings > Advanced settings  > Allow management of content types setear a TRUE

    12-Dar permisos para todos los usuarios autentificados

    Usar el siguiente usuario:NT AUTHORITY\authenticated users

    13-Cancelar un deployment en progreso

    stsadm -o enumdeployments

    Obtengo el ID del job que deseo cancelar

    stsadm -o canceldeployment -id “el id del job”

    Después podrás verificar en el Central Administration que dirá que la solución no está deployada (“not deployed”)

    14-Habilitar el log de auditoria de SharePoint 2010 sobre una site collection

    STSADM.EXE -o activatefeature -name Reporting –url http://url_colleccionsitio/ –force

    15-Limpiar el log de la auditoria

    $sitio = Get-SPSite -Identity http://sitecollection
    $fecha = Get-Date
    $fecha = $date.AddMilliseconds(1)
    $sitio.Audit.TrimAuditLog($date)

    16- Execadmsvcjobs

    stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs

    Este comando permite ejecutar todos los trabajos administrativos del temporizador inmediatamente en lugar de esperar a que se ejecute el trabajo del temporizador.

    17-Acceso denegado a un administrador de site collection

    Al ingresar a un site y el usuario actual le da acceso denegado, pero tiene un rol de site collection administrator, posiblemente el site collection esté bloqueado (Central Administration, Application Management->SharePoint Site Management->Site collection quotas and locks)

    18-Saber la versión de Sharepoint de un Sharepoint público

    Ingresar a: _vti_pvt/buildversion.cnf

    Ej: http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/_vti_pvt/buildversion.cnf

    19-Donde guarda Sharepoint el connection string de la base de datos de configuración?

    Hay dos keys: DSN (Connection string para la configuration database) y Id (GUID de SharePoint configuration database)

    \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\14.0\Secure\ConfigDb

    También es posible verlo desde el IIS

    Guardando data de configuración en Sharepoint 2010 (SPPersistedObject)

    Como plataforma de desarrollo, SharePoint es muy poderoso.Pero todavía hay algunas desventajas para los desarrolladores, tales como el mal desempeño para operar list items, el almacenamiento de datos personalizados que no es fácil, y así sucesivamente. Si queremos desarrollar un producto que necesita operar datos muy grandes o llevar a cabo cálculos muy complejos,en general, debemos crear una base de datos de asistente para guardar nuestros datos. Pero cuando queremos desarrollar un producto pequeño, SharePoint nos ofrecen varias opciones.

    There are four class with a property Properties (hashtable type), they are SPWeb, SPFolder, SPListItem. The property Properties is a hash table, so we can save data with a key value pair, and the value must should be can serialized. When we update the object, the property will be write to database with the object, and you can get the data from the object with a key too. We will not not describe it in detail, Here we will tell you about another kind storing data method, it is the SPPersistedObject.

    Una posibilidad es el uso de la propiedad “Properties” (tabla hash), más información en este post: http://todosharepoint.blogspot.com/2012/02/spwebs-propertybag.html

    Crear un Quota Template

    Ir a Central Administration-> Application Management->Specify Quota Templates

    clip_image002

    Desde aquí se puede crear una plantilla nueva o modificar una plantilla existente. Vale la pena mencionar que si se modifica una plantilla existente, NO se aplicará a las colecciones de sitios ya creados con la plantilla, sólo para las nuevas plantillas.
    Así que voy a crear una nueva plantilla llamada "Sitio de grupo pequeño”, con un almacenamiento de 20 MB para propósitos de demo. También voy a especificar los límites de los Sandbox Solutions Code.

    clip_image004

    Cuando se crea un Site Collection se podrá utilizar este Quota Template.

    clip_image006

    Qué pasa cuando la quota es alcanzada? Puede cambiar el comportamiente yendo en el Central Administration a la sección ‘Site Collection Quotas and Locks’ . Central Administration-> Application Management->Configure Quotas and Locks.

    clip_image008

    Hay un número de acciones disponibles. Por cada site collection puede especificar “Site Lock Information”, tales como: Not Locked, Adding content prevented, Read Only and No Access. Además puede especificar el campo ‘Additional Lock Information’. Este campo se muestra al usuario cuando la quota ha sido alcanzada.

    Incrementar el tamaño máximo de template de listas

    Si intenta guardar una lista como una plantilla de lista, puede ver el siguiente error, debido a que la lista sea demasiado grande:

    “The list is too large to save as a template. The size of a template cannot exceed 10485760 bytes.”

    Puede aumentar el tamaño máximo de una plantilla de lista del sitio, ejecute el siguiente comando  (tenga en cuenta que 500 MB es lo más grande que puede setear):

    stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname max-template-document-size -propertyvalue 50000000

    Agregar servidores de bases de datos a una farm existente

    En algunos escenarios es recomendable que las bases de datos de contenido estén alojadas en servidores de BD separados, el mismo caso se cumple para las BDs de Aplicaciones de Servicio como por ejemplo las  BDs del servicio de búsqueda.

    En este post explica cómo agregar un servidor de bases de datos a una farm existente: http://geeks.ms/blogs/marchena/archive/2012/02/15/a-241-adir-servidores-de-base-de-datos-a-una-granja-existente.aspx

    Paso a describir el procedimiento:

    1. Primero debemos instalar un servidor de SQL Server 2008 R2 que disponga de las mismas actualizaciones del servidor de BD que aloja nuestra de BD de configuración (Verificar las actualizaciones). Este servidor debe estar unido al dominio.

    SharePoint Configuration Cache

    1.What is SharePoint Configuration Cache?

    The config cache is where we cache configuration information (stored in the config database) on each server in the farm.  Caching the data on each server prevents us from having to make SQL calls to pull this information from the configuration database. It is full of XML files containing configuration objects.  The SharePoint configuration cache is where configuration information from the SharePoint configuration database is stored on each server in the farm.  Caching the data from the config database as XML files on the web front ends and application servers prevents multiple calls to SQL Server thus improving performance.  This is a feature in WSS & MOSS 2007 as well as SharePoint 2010.

    There is a timer job called “Config Refresh” that updates the cache on SharePoint servers in the farm. Like any other cache, config cache becomes stale over time. Therefore, clearing the cache is needed to get all the SharePoint servers up to date on the latest farm information

    Sometimes this cache can become corrupted. This issue can come up when developing timer job definitions . These definitions use this cache, so everytime you deploy new versions of the assemblies, you’ll have to clear the cache.  Also, when the cached data becomes out of sync with what’s in the configuration database, timer jobs may start failing.  This will occur if the contents of the file system cache on the front-end servers are newer than the contents of the configuration database, so after you perform a system recovery you may have to manually clear the file system cache on a server as well.  Another of the reasons your cache could be out of sync is if the Timer service on your servers was stopped or failed unexpectedly.

    Improving SharePoint’s Performance

    The database

    The database is a common area where performance hits are most prevalent. SharePoint is database intensive, about 95% of SharePoint is stored in a SQL database: files, images, videos, pages, content, user profiles, etc. It’s important to have a happy and health SQL database running.

    Things to do or check

    • Make sure databases are running on RAID5 or RAID10 partitions. These two RAID configurations provide the fasted throughput for constant read/write activities. If you’re on a RAID1, consider moving your databases.
    • Check your drive’s free space. Make sure you have several gig available. If it gets too small SQL still start acting funny, and slower. If it get to a gig or under it’ll stop working all together.
    • Check your content database size and growth properties in SQL Server Management Studio. If these are set too low, then SQL has to resize itself a lot and that can slow it down.

    Top 10 SharePoint 2010 Configuration Mistakes -- and How to Fix Them

    Ver el post completo:http://www.sharepointpromag.com/content1/topic/sharepoint-2010-misconfigurations-141636/catpath/sharepoint

    Mistake #1: Scrimping on SharePoint's RAM or Hard Disk Space

    Virtualization itself isn't bad, but it must be done intelligently and without sacrificing SharePoint's ability to do its job.

    If SharePoint finds itself starved for RAM, it starts shutting off functionality so that it can fit into the available space. It also caches less in the web application pools and recycles those pools more often. Less caching and more recycles result in a degraded end-user experience, as SharePoint must compile the same ASP.NET code over and over. And no one likes unhappy users, not even their mothers.

    The solution to this particular issue is easy: Add RAM.

    Mistake #2: Using Virtualized Microsoft SQL Server

    Virtualization isn't bad. But virtualization allows administrators to make mistakes on a much grander scale. Take virtualizing SQL Server. Everything in SharePoint is stored in SQL Server, if SQL Server is slow, SharePoint is slow.

    The obvious solution is to move SQL Server to a physical box.

    Ocultar el nombre de creador y modificador

    El objeto SPList que representa Listas y Bibliotecas en el Modelo de Objetos de SharePoint dispone de una propiedad "ShowUser" que permite hacer que el nombre de los usuarios que crearon y modificaron elementos sean remplazados por "***".

    PSConfig.exe – Central administration

    One of most important part of SharePoint setup is understanding the role of PSConfig.exe.

    It is located at %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\bin

    PSConfig.exe is an alternative interface to perform several operations that control how SharePoint 2010 Products are configured.

    This is useful when you want to make changes related to Central Admin site like:

    • Changing authentication
    • Re provisioning of central admin site from one server to another
    • You deleted site from IIS accidentally or screwed up in some other way

    as a simple solution open the command prompt and navigate to path above and give following command.

    > psconfig.exe -cmd adminvs -provision -port 42706 -WindowsAuthProvider OnlyUseNTLM

    And its done. you will see new central admin site with port 42706 with default ntlm authentication.

    You can find more details at : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263093.aspx

    Alternate to use PSConfig is obvious PowerShell.

    “adminvs -provision” is now replaced with “New-SPCentralAdministration”  in PowerShell.

    So new command will be

    New-SPCentralAdministration -Port 42706 -WindowsAuthProvider “NTLM”

    More you can with con PSConfig:

    • Provision the Services (handy in case of unresolvable service application errors)
    • Provision the Central Administration (handy in case of unresolvable CA errors)
    • Resume a failed upgrade
    • Repair SharePoint 2010 installations

    Abrir pdf de forma inmediata en Sharepoint – Open pdf directly

    if you’ve installed SharePoint 2010, you may have noticed a change in behaviour of any PDF files that you may have stored. Previously, they would open directly in the browser, but now the user is prompted to save the file to the disk. This is due to a new security feature in IE8 that SharePoint 2010 respects.
    “In Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft added a security feature to prevent script injection vulnerabilities caused by buggy client software. This feature is activated by a new HTTP header called X-Download-Options which can be set to noopen. When that header is passed with a file attachment Internet Explorer 8 will not provide the option to directly open the file, instead you must first save the file locally and then open it.
    SharePoint 2010 utilizes this enhanced security feature in IE 8 to block the opening of file types it considers vulnerable to scripting or other attacks, such as PDFs, HTML, etc. You can modify SharePoint's behavior by changing the Browser File Handling option in the Web Application General Settings of SharePoint 2010. Your options are Permissive and Strict, with strict being the default.
